COMING TOGETHER FOR OUR FARMERS
Farming communities are in crisis, with little income and limited access to resources. Being described as the worst drought on record, according to the NSW Government, 100% of NSW is now officially in drought.
Thread Together’s mission is to support people who are doing it tough. Right now that’s our farmers. Through a collaboration with Royal Far West new clothes and shoes are being delivered right where they are needed most – to our rural communities.
Seven year old Cooper wrote this poem and his Mum asked everyone to share it. Knowing that by working together we can support those in need towards a better tomorrow fills us with hope.
Corporates such as Morgan Stanley, ANZ bank, Amazon Web and Boody and a range of schools such as Sydney Catholic Schools, The Scots College and Kambala have sorted and packed the clothes to be delivered with love as usual by our generous logistics partner Toll.
MORE COMING WITH ROYAL FAR WEST
The arrangement with Royal Far West will also see a new Clothing Hub opening in Sydney. Thread Together Clothing Hubs provide clients with an authentic shopping experience during tough times. Royal Far West facilitates access to specialist medical care by offering accommodation in Sydney to rural families and their sick children. The new Clothing Hub will not only be supporting these families during a difficult time in their life with new clothes, it will also be open to more local charity partners and their clients
HAVE YOU EXPLORED OUR NEW WEBSITE?
If you haven’t had the chance to explore the Thread Together Website for a while, now is a great time to do so. We have revamped the site completely, making it more interactive, informative and hopefully inspiring! There is a blog (contributions welcome!), a page where volunteers can find out more about events and short or long term roles, and of course a page where people can donate to help us achieve our mission.
